Hi,

Regretfully nothing found yet even with the help obtained (see subject
of post). According to Canadian census she (Annie Ellen Watson) seems to
be born September 1867 somewhere in Russia (always within the background
is her fathers (William Watson) occupation as Railroad contractor).

Is there some hint to a construction of a railway around that time
involving an English company

Sincere thanks for any answer,
Richard

See this site in Wikipedia -

Look at section 1.3 Canada.

"The completion of Canada's first transcontinental railroad, on November 7,
1885 is an important milestone in Canadian history. Between 1881 and 1885,
the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR)[6] completed a line between Ontario and
the Pacific coast, fulfilling a condition of British Columbia's 1871 entry
into the Canadian Confederation. "

Might be a possibility.

Saw that one also, but is a bit outside my search within this group.
Sorry that I was less clear in this case, but I'm searching for the
events around the birth of Annie Ellen Watson somewhere August 1867 in
Russia. Not about her later life in Canada which was from 1907 onwards
(less her oldest son who remained in England). I did see several
optional places in Russia where railways were constructed in that
period, but none mentioning involvement of a English (or foreign) firm.
That part might need local knowledge.

Thanks for thinking and searching with me,
Richard
