I recently found an Easter basket cover that once belonged to my mother. It
is hand embroidered with the following as best as I can make out the
letters;

Pan Je??is (Jesus) Kristus

Vstal Frmortvich or possible Vstal Fmortvich (?)

Allelua

I know that it has something to do with Christ is risen, but would like very
much to know the exact translation.

Anyone on the list that could help, it would greatly be appreciated.

I'm guessing it's czech: Pan Ježíš Kristus vstal z mrtvých (Lord Jesus
Christ woke up from the dead)

Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis
for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from
a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

SLAVA ISUSU CHRISTU!!

Church Slavonic for Vstal Frmortvich, I believe would be part of a Greeting
I heard many times when I was growing up. CHRISTOS VOSKRESS!! (Christu is
Risen!!) CHRISTOS VOSKRESS!! (Christu Is Risen!!) VOESTENNA VOSKRESS!!
Truley He is Risen!!
May God Bless and Keep you and your Loved Ones.
