I have recently been doing an extensive search for my family and
have come up
with dead ends for my father's family.

His father's family: They were YAMPOLSKYs when they came from Russia
to
Wisconsin..Sometime before 1920, my great grandfather died and my
great grandmother Fanny moved the family to Philadelphia. The first
three children were born in Russia and the other four were born in
Wisconsin. I don't know my great grandfather's name...Later the last
name was changed to YAMPELL.

The daughters married and their names were: Bessie PILLET, Rose
DUBINSKI, Dorothy WOLOWITZ. The sons were Morris (Maurice), Lenis,
Sam
(my grandfather) and Max.

His mother's family: They were Wolowitz's and I really don't have
much
information there either.. His grandmother's name was Yetta and her
maiden name was ALEXANDER. We believe his grandfather's name was
Eleck(sp?). I think there were a total of 11 children but I think
only 8 made it to adulthood.

I am also looking for anything about Samuel and Dora BUCHALTER and
their family--That is my maternal grandfather's family and I have
some
pieces of that. I also need information on Ester and Rubin Lessing--
that is my maternal grandmother's family and I have some pieces of
that as well.

I am 41 and live in NJ. I am the second of five grand children on
both sides, My Yampell grandparents have since passed away but my
Buchalter grandparents are still alive. I am doing this search to
put
together a family tree for my son who is now 16...

Any help would be appreciated tremendously!

Thanks!

Do you have any better date information on your grandfather? There are 32
Yampolsky listings and 21 Yampolsky listings in the Ellis Island data base
at . Did not check how many were male and female. They all came after
1900. Many were from Russia. Do you know when he came, or his age at any
date, or his birth year?
