Hello everybody,

My uncle was born in Serbst in Tsjechia, that is what I read in his
death-certificate. This death-certificate was made in Germany in 1968.
Who knows what town or village is meant bij Serbst, because I can not find
it.
Thanks in advance.

Serbst is the German name of the village Srbsko (~20 km SW from Prague).

Yes. The word Srbsko (Serbst in german) is czech name for Serbia. The first
entry about the village Srbsko is from 1428 and its name probably
comes from Serbia settlers who founded it.

This should be written as Czechoslovakia. On 1 January 1993 Czechoslovakia
split into Czech Republic (Czechia) and Slovak Republic (Slovakia).
