Hello,

Below are links to two birth records written in cyrillic that are from
the Lutheran church in Sakiai, Lithuania.

For the first image, I am concerned with that for "Wilhelm Fromm," who
is the 8th from the top.

For the second, I am concerned with that for "Anna Kalau," who is the
11th from the top.

The columns are as follows:
1. Last Name, First Name of Child
2. First Name of father
3. Maiden name of mother
4. Birth date & place

I really just need to know the name of the mothers for Wilhelm and
Anna.

I know that Wilhelm's father was Friedrich, and it looks like his
mother's first name was Wilhelmina. He was born 01 January 1857 in
Mickai.

Anna's father was Heinrich, and she was born 06 October 1855 in
Mickai.

Can anyone tell me what the name of the mothers are?

If the images are not clear enough, please tell me and I will try to
get a clearer copy.

Thank you very much,
Stefan Ramonat

That does not look like Cyrillic. That is very flowery regular
writing with clearly recognizable letters. And yes, it is poor
quality, with the parents' names virtually unreadable, presumably due
to the fading/poor condition of the original. I don't see Wilhelm at
all 8th from the top on the page you listed. It looks like the second
name on that line starts with a "B."

That does not look like Cyrillic.
From my experience with some Rusyn church records from the 1850s (and 2
years of Russian in college), it does look like Cyrillic to me.

For the first one, I would guess that the father's name is Friedrich.
The mother's surname looks like PU___. There is a similar name on line
2. I can't make out much else.

The second one is in worse shape. But my immediate reaction to seeing
the father's name was George.

But I could be way off on my guesses. You get what you pay for. ;-)
