Hi,

I am searching for the meaning of the surname "Vodraska", perhaps anyone
here can help me? I found lots of spellings like Vodrazka, Wodrazka,
Wodraschke and so on. It is supposed to be Czech, but there's no
explanation of what it means. The suffix "-ka" or "-ke" seems to be "son
of", therefore I would appreciate any hint what a Czech word like vodras
or vodrasz could mean. Someone told me it would be an ancient form of
Andrew or Ondrej, but I didn't find any proof of that. I searched in
Czech dictionaries - no match. I even tried bodras, bodrasz and so on.

Perhaps a native speaker knows any word sounding quite similar?

Djekuji in advance,
Hauke.

I'm not a native speaker by any means but I know Prague speakers often
add "v" to the start of words.... like "vokno" for "okno". "Odraz"
has lots of definitions on slovnik.cz... perhaps you're descended from
a bouncy ball!
